Food industry:
Stainless steel machine parts for food environments

In the food industry, every minute of downtime counts.

BO-Solutions supplies stainless steel components for food and catering installations: cutting blades, molds, rollers, guides, couplings, and machine parts that must continue to perform hygienically, wear-resistant, and accurately in 24/7 production environments.

CNC components for food processing in stainless steel 316L and 304: designed for hygienic production, easy to clean according to EHEDG guidelines.

Stainless steel for food & machine parts

As a CNC partner for food processing, we produce components for chips, snacks, frozen vegetables, pasta, and grain products:

  • Stainless steel machine parts – shafts, sleeves, guides, and machining for production and packaging lines
  • Cutting and shaping components – knives, cutting dies, rolling rollers and stamping dies
  • Structural stainless steel components – frames, protective covers, gratings, and brackets for hygienic production environments

Concrete benefit:

  • Food-safe 316L/304 stainless steel with polished surfaces (Ra < 0.8 µm) for optimal cleanability
  • Precision tolerances down to ±0.05 mm for consistent product quality and a perfect fit
  • Flexible volumes – from prototype to medium-sized series without long MOQs
  • Express service for production peaks and unplanned machine downtime for our customers

For machine parts that are mechanically sound and food-ready.

Why BO-Solutions for stainless steel food?

Our approach:

  • Food-safe materials – Stainless steel 316L/304 and FDA-approved plastics (PEEK, POM, PTFE)
  • Integrated process – engineering, CNC production, and CMM inspection under one roof for short lead times
  • Reverse Engineering – reproducing and improving obsolete or discontinued food components
  • Complete service – from machining and polishing to final measurement and material tracing

Food projects require a production partner that combines hygiene, precision, and timing.

BO-Solutions produces CNC parts in stainless steel, plastic, and other suitable materials, with short lead times when necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions about CNC Food Industry

Is stainless steel food safe?

Widely used stainless steel grades such as AISI 304 and 316L are the global standard in the food industry because they:

  • Highly resistant to corrosion
  • Is relatively easy to clean
  • Suitable for contact with foodstuffs when correctly finished and used according to the guidelines

However, the correct alloy, surface finish, and cleaning regime are important. Not every stainless steel is automatically food-safe in every situation; therefore, in food environments, RVS 316L or comparable grades and smooth, easy-to-clean surfaces are often chosen.

Even stainless steel has its limits. In food environments, you must be careful with, among other things:

  • Chlorine-based cleaners and strong halogen-containing chemicals – these can cause pitting corrosion and stress corrosion, especially with 304.
  • Prolonged exposure to saline, acidic, or highly chloride-containing environments without proper material selection (e.g., 316L or duplex is better).
  • Combination of high temperatures, moisture, and aggressive media, which increases the risk of corrosion.

The key: choose the right type of stainless steel for your process and combine it with the right cleaning agents. BO-Solutions is happy to help determine which stainless steel quality and finish best suits your food line or catering installation.
