Food industry: stainless steel machine parts for food environments

In the food industry, every minute of downtime counts.

BO-Solutions supplies stainless steel parts for food and catering installations: cutting blades, shapes, roller rollers, guides, couplings and machine parts that must continue to perform hygienically, wear-resistant and accurately in 24/7 production environments.

CNC components for food processing in stainless steel 316L and 304: designed for hygienic production, easy to clean according to EHEDG guidelines.

Stainless steel for food & machine parts

As a CNC partner for food processing, we produce components for crisps, snacks, frozen vegetables, pasta and grain products:

  • Stainless steel machine parts – shafts , sleeves, guides and clamps for production and packaging lines
  • Cutting and forming components – knives, cutting forms, roller rollers and die-cutting molds for food processing
  • Structural stainless steel components – frames, guards, grids and brackets for hygienic production environments

Concrete advantage:

  • Food-safe stainless steel 316L/304 with polished surfaces (Ra < 0,8 µm) voor optimale cleanability
  • Precision tolerances of up to ±0.05 mm for consistent product quality and perfect fit
  • Flexible volumes – from prototype to medium-sized series without long MOQs
  • Express service for production peaks and unplanned machine downtime for our customers

For machine parts that are mechanically correct and food-ready.

Why BO-Solutions for stainless steel food?

Our approach:

  • Food-safe materials – stainless steel 316L/304 and FDA-approved plastics (PEEK, POM, PTFE)
  • Integrated process – engineering, CNC manufacturing and CMM control under one roof for short lead time
  • Reverse Engineering – reproduce and improve obsolete or discontinued food components
  • Complete service – from machining and polishing to final measurement and material tracking

Food projects require a production partner who combines hygiene, precision and timing.

BO-Solutions produces CNC parts in stainless steel, plastic and other suitable materials, with short lead times when needed.

Frequently asked questions about CNC Food Industry

Is stainless steel food safe?

Commonly used stainless steel grades such as AISI 304 and 316L are standard worldwide in the food industry because they:

  • Good resistance to corrosion
  • Be relatively easy to clean
  • Be suitable for food contact when properly finished and used according to guidelines

Important is the right alloy, surface finish and cleaning regime. Not every stainless steel is automatically food-safe in every situation; therefore, in food environments, stainless steel 316L or similar qualities and smooth, easy-to-clean surfaces are often chosen.

Even stainless steel has its limits. In food environments, you need to be careful with, among other things:

  • Chlorine-containing cleaners and strong halogen-containing chemicals – these can cause pitting and stress corrosion cracking, especially with 304.
  • Prolonged exposure to salty, acidic, or highly chloride-containing environments without proper material selection (e.g., better 316L or duplex).
  • Combination of high temperatures, moisture and aggressive media, which increases corrosion risk.

The core: choose the right stainless steel type for your process and combine it with the right cleaning agents. BO-Solutions is happy to think along with you about which stainless steel quality and finish best suits your food line or catering installation.
